“Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination.”

Posted by Devs on November 7, 2008

A great leaders are always stands out from rest of the mass. I am very much inspired with the speech given by our one of visionary Indian politician Narendra Modi. Frankly speaking I would not have impressed at this level if the same speech had given by any one of Indian IT leaders. He is very confident that Innovation and R&D is the key to growth and to save Indian IT slowdown from global crisis. He is not just only to attract industrial project but also to drive our IT industry in a all new different path.

Here below is the vibrating speech given by him on titled ‘Come out with ‘Nano’ of IT’ in Bangalore, an Indian silicon valley.

modi

He exhorted the Indian IT industry to emerge from the ‘comfort zone’ of providing low-end services and challenged it to come out with a ‘Nano’ of IT for the masses.
Majority of the revenue for the Indian IT industry continues to come from low value addition jobs like manpower provisioning and low-end support services, Modi said in Bangalore at the ICT event Bangalore IT.biz.

“The industry should come out of this comfort zone and engage itself in creating value for the company and also adding value to the manpower which is working for it”, he said,  inaugurating the exhibition of the three-day event, in which Gujarat is the partner State.

Modi stressed that the IT industry has to reinvent itself, must focus on innovations, and on systems rather than being comfortable with services.

“It must invest in R&D. It must develop sustainable products.

“While services may offer marginal advantage over costs, the payoffs against the product development are huge”, he said, adding, “it was understandable till the industry was trying to stand on its feet, but now having grown healthy, it must show foresight.”

“Why cannot we develop MS Windows in India, or a Google or a Yahoo? If an Indian can develop Hotmail and given that 30 per cent of Windows developers may well be Indians in any case, the task does not look all that difficult. What is required is a leap of faith, a paradigm shift”, he said.

Modi said it is that leap of faith which is going to give India ‘A Nano Car in One Lakh Rupees’. Even the most optimist Indians did not believe that it could be done.

This (nano car) has potential to revolutionise the automobile industry and put India among the innovative best in the world, he said.

“With all the abundance of Indian IT talent available on tap, when is it that we will come out with a ‘Nano’ of IT, with holistic and accessible solutions for the mankind”, the chief minister asked.

Noting that the current global slowdown has challenged the Indian IT-BPO industry also, he said it’s a rare opportunity for the IT industry to show its capacity in sustaining the growth momentum.

In addition to the outsourcing model, the IT industry has to look at the growth opportunities in the domestic market. There is still a vast Indian platform which remains untouched with this revolution.

Modi said inspite of phenomenal growth, the productivity of the Indian IT industry is quite low. Even today, the average realisation per employee of an Indian IT company is one twentieth, or lower, of the global leaders like Microsoft or HP.

More powerful movie with most powerful message!!!

Posted by Devs on June 13, 2008

Its just a 5min clip, but I’m damn sure it will influence you atleast for a day. Thanks to miniature-earth for this heart touching content and Ramz for sharing with me.

Just watch this movie and come back to the post.

Hmm., content may be over shadowed by the way of presentation, but the core message is “Appreciate what you have, And do your best for better world”. I am not asking to buy a T-Shirt thro paypal (dats upto your wish), but I kindly encourage everyone to help others in an all possible ways.

I am happy that India is going to be accommodated with a costliest individual house in the world, but on the other side I am very regret that another 25% of people struggling even without a hut to live.

As per the recent survey done by planning commission, still around 25% of people are below poverty line. Who is going to take care of them? Government? How much they can take care? Whole 25% of people? Government can’t burden fully at a single stretch as they wanted to look at 1/4th of total Indians but they can encourage social service activities in much better way.

As our finance minister Mr P.Chidambaram said in his recent industrial conference, every big organization/industry has to come forward and adopt few villages near to them. He doesn’t point only large organizations; he just requested them as they can reduce the rate of poverty aggressively. And also that will help to average our fairly uneven wealth atleast in a micro level.

Here I must quote and encourage Aspire’s polestar activities, just being ~450 employee company they adopted couple of panchayat elementary schools located near to siruseri, Chennai. Even I got a chance to help a 7yr old heart as my chris child :) thru those activities. I don’t bother either they are doing this as a service or just for their publicity, atlast it’s great pleasure from both the side.

Let’s chase our dream! And also let’s help to chase their dream..!
